Cyber Kid: We Exist on the Internet- Speculation on Pluto in Aquarius

I exist on the internet. I exist in real life too. Maybe over the past 15 years, I’ve had moments or eras where I existed almost -more- on the internet. There are places… whole worlds even to explore.

Technology is a world it’s a tool at its best it should connect and inspire us at its worst it is an all-encompassing world that distracts us from simple pleasures and overwhelms and distorts our reality.

But the internet is a simple pleasure. Eartheater said the internet is handmade. As someone who dates a software engineer, I truly believe the internet can be just as creative as any other medium.

I became ill at a young age. World of Warcraft and personal blogs pulled me out of a dark lonely place in my teens. I had a real-life too, horse girl. Aspiring Hair model. But I was lonely so at night I played on an oceanic server and the time difference allowed for companionship at odd hours. You make friends on the internet, good friends. Some people I still talk to. The singer Lights met her partner on World of Warcraft. She very much exists in the real world but at one point she also existed digitally. 

Barbara Sher once called the internet “the warmest place.” If there’s something niche you like the internet can and will connect you to other people who like the same niche thing.

With things like oculus, you can literally “see the world.” For 300$ for someone feeling stuck in a life they are unhappy with this is problematic. For someone looking for inspiration on where they may like to travel this is inspiring. The internet is a mycelium network in a lot of ways.

I believe Pluto in Aquarius will drastically change how we are interacting with technology. For better or worse. I think we will see advancements with AI and people leaving the real world to spend their life online on the more negative spectrum.

On a more positive spectrum, I’m picturing the article written in the New York Times about the Luddite club, and intentional tech usage, less time online, and more time with our feet in the grass.

Lately, tech has almost felt like fast fashion. Trend cycles pop up faster than we can consume and appreciate them.

After the pandemic and teaching classes and participating in online classes, I’m burnt out on it. What gave us access to just about anyone became flooded with courses and news. 

The pendulum always wants to swing. 

Pluto is a dismantler, for better or worse. Pluto is also an alchemist, a world builder, and a world destroyer.

Aquarius, ruled by Saturn and Uranus and brings along new understandings as well as offerings to the world. Both structure and freedom.

Most air signs bring a form of balance. The twins, the scales. Aquarius takes what has been balanced and sculpts it into something visionary, putting it up for the world to see. That’s not to say that it only creates genius though. To make something new, to make something amazing and ground-shattering, it takes time, it takes trial, it takes mistakes. Mistakes can be a good thing, it means we are trying.

AI is its own problem as well as its own solution.

1. The internet is handmade, AI could slowly change this in a lot of ways.
2. The internet is dark and magical, it can also be a bright and life-changing place.
3. There is something almost psychic and prophet fulfilling about the internet.

Personally, I believe we will be seeing a separation in the coming months/ years within how people relate to tech and community. Some of us wanting nothing to do with it, moving off the grid, etc. Some of us being all encompassed by it, some creating a balance. Also I suspect change within how we interact with our communities. If Pluto is often about change within power structures, we can expect changes on a world level.. especially as we are moving out of Pluto in Capricorns Patriarchal grasp.
