Pisces speaks of stripping away things to become formless. Close your eyes. Imagine being in a body of water, as we sink into water it tends to cradle us. Often in a limitless way. It also drowns out sound around us making us less clear in some ways, but more so in others. It is cleansing, or at times smothering.
The opposite sign, Virgo wants perfectionism. Pisces only wants to be tethered to the ether. To go deeper, to dream more limitlessly. Expanding consciousness. Releasing ego and handling our emotional life in a way that allows us to grow, rather then being dependent on escapism.
Pisces awakens us to the belief that we can always go deeper, be kinder, be more open to life, ourselves and others.

Co-ruled by Jupiter and Neptune. It is noted that sometimes too much is sometimes just that. There’s too much of a good thing, too much gambling or drugs, too much of the things that help us to “drown out the noise.” Addiction. Neptune deals with substance, even caffeine. Also illusion. Deception. As well as compassion, and intuition.
Pisces speaks of depth. Of transcendence, of expansion, of pure connection. Here we dive into the ocean and at first we may be lost. However, when we do return, there is a chance – a large one at that- that we will not be the same. Pisces speaks of being limitless, of expanding outwards. Of having less boundaries, being tender souls, and having a deep spiritual understanding.
It speaks of movement, how we move forward out of the temporary death of the earth that we call Winter. Where self-reflection is at an all-time high. We are left with our emotions, or perhaps our addictions. The deeper we dive into the ocean, we are able to measure our shadows, our root systems. The deeper and wider our roots are set the higher we can grow. Not unlike a tree.
In undisturbed forests, trees connect and even nourish each other through their root systems. Pisces speaks of such things, of collective consciousness, pure depth, pure love, pure lost in the forest.
Pure faith.

Beliefs come in many forms; in god or the universe. In the stories, we have been told about the self. In the stories we tell ourselves. Pisces asks us to look deeply at the self and to realize there is no “I” only a very large “We”. Awareness. Transcendence.
Pisces is about the soul’s ultimate calling versus the things we are called to from the ego. How we embrace mystery to experience the self.
I feel in the larger scheme it’s about dissolution and in many ways death. After all what is more transcendent than earth’s final chapter? The thing about Pisces though is that it’s not just a death in the 12th we go to die only to be reborn. Ultimately this is what spring teaches us.
Water is the element that doesn’t just give us depth, it gives us life. Pisces speaks of endings, connection, and expansion in its final form. Virgo may think she has the last word. But Pisces does, it is that spill of emotion that forces you to truly listen to what it has to say.
