| There are certain things that fall into Aquarius’ realm. Probably one of my favorites just might be airplanes. The other day me and my boyfriend went to the post office, to send old computers to be recycled at Apple. My boyfriend is a software engineer. He is someone who is innovative, and takes his time. He has no interest in shortcuts. He is also someone who at one point was very inspired by Steve Jobs; Steve was someone who was committed to quality. My partner also has his pilots license. Something I couldn’t do even if i wanted to due to my health problems. Even though I would love to be. Back to the post office, I asked him if the Wright brothers ever actually made money with their creation. Honestly, I was really just talking to myself. The answer is yes. They did. They also at points in time “fumbled the bag.” As kids today say. But it took years, struggle and toil and work. Most ideas need polishing. Especially an airplane. I’ve been unimpressed with the current culture and the grasp at anything “shiny”. It’s like we are all ravens grabbing tinfoil from the ground, thinking its silver when really it may be trash. And hey, we all know one man’s trash is another’s treasure. Honestly, I blame social media. I blame urgency. I blame Influencer culture, and life coaching pyramid schemes. I blame the need most of us have that make us feel like we have to be “great” and polished and all the other things that actually may just be a distraction. I think one of the most important things we can do is slow down at this moment.Currently things aren’t sustainable. In many aspects of the word. Yes, we do need something new. The internet is a mycelium network of sorts. But real ones exist too. Food for thought this New Moon. Currently I’m into being Experimental. |
