From the deep inner emotional world of Cancer, we move outward. What was once inward demands expression and dynamism.
The Sun is a literal star. Hot fucking plasma. The Sun in astrology rules Leo, Leo is a Fixed Fire Sign. So what happens when we have the Moon placed where the sun thrives?
Leo is about developing the ego. As well as the personality, and expressing it.
Leo placements in general tend to be proud, expressive, strong, creative, and warm. Nothing wrong with a little pride or extravagance. The concern is when pride turns to arrogance or hedonism.
However, with the Moon in Leo this placement can actually sometimes struggle to embrace wanting to be seen, sometimes it’s something that has to be worked at.
Not all expression is based solely on what most would consider art, there are a million ways to express one’s self, there are a million ways to feel seen, and show pride in oneself and embrace self-love. Which ultimately is some of what the Moon in Leo is about.
Sun and Moon are Conjunct in Leo at 23° Wednesday, August 16, 2023, 01:13:47 AM AKST
Lilith in Leo sits at 24° and Venus sits at 18°
Something about this conjunction screams “shame hangover” to me. The Leo planets are all square Uranus in Taurus at 23°.
As the Sun rules Leo, ego may definitely be playing a big role in this Moon. Revelations around how we view our less “savory” emotions and habits, especially with Lilith in the mix. New viewpoints on relationships. If we are relying on others to “give us our flowers” we may be in for disappointment.
Uranus is one of the key players on this Moon therefore we know the ground is not truly solid. Uranus pulls us away from what we once viewed as our limitations and gives us a broader perspective, one that may be uncomfortable but also can help connect us to our true nature.
We also have the aspect pattern of the kite formed by Mars 22° and Mercury 19° in Virgo trining Uranus in Taurus.
Mars is also trining Pluto at 28° Capricorn
Our Virgo planets oppose Neptune and Neptune sextiles Uranus and Pluto. Finalizing the kite aspect with the tail of the “kite” being Neptune.
Kites tend to deal with going above and beyond, transcending something, it’s about realizing potential and making a reach for it.
This planetary “blend” symbolizes taking our ideas and drive and applying them to something related to something larger than ourselves. Virgo is a sign of service after all.
With Uranus and Pluto, there is movement. Sometimes Pluto and Uranus are about collapse and change. Sometimes they lean more towards rebuilding.
With Neptune being the tail of our aspect pattern this can lead to great leaps in creativity, dissolving blockages, and on the shadow side, sometimes pure delusion or disorientation. However, with all the earth energy (Virgo, Taurus, Capricorn. ) There is a major opportunity to ground into our drive, and reach for the sky.
