“I want to be inside your darkest everything.”: A Full Moon in Scorpio

The Sun in Taurus opposes the Moon in Scorpio at 25’ 18° during this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on May 15, 2022, at 8:13 pm AKST. The New Moon brought lots of change for many people, including myself. This Full Moon will allow us to continue this “shedding” process. Remember snakes shed their skin and appear renewed.

If the Sun in Taurus is of the body, the Moon in Scorpio is of the soul and initiating a personal transformation. The Moon in Scorpio always makes me think of this Frida Kahlo Quote “I want to be inside your darkest everything.” Scorpio is about getting to the root of the issue, being willing to go to hell and back for someone or something, and searching for depth. Scorpio is also about change, transformation, “death” in the symbolic sense, and letting go.

The Moon in Scorpio is a position where it is in “Fall.” In short, that means the Moon placed here has a harder time expressing itself, our emotions may struggle to come to the surface, buried deep within the heart and refusing vulnerability. One could say the feelings are lost in the depths. The Moon in Scorpio can bring up feelings of being all consumed by emotion, desiring things so deeply you can’t let them go. Wanting to get to the core of the issue, sometimes to the point of obsession. But obsession can also be about wanting more. More connection, more from ourselves and our lives. More from those around us.

The Sun, North Node, and Uranus in Taurus oppose the Moon in Scorpio which is also conjunct to the South Node. We can expect the ghosts of our emotional pasts to be highlighted in some way. Uranus in Taurus makes a wide orb conjunct the North Node and Sun, so even if our past is being drugged up from the shadows the focus is truly on where we are headed and how we can move towards that. Finding new solutions to old problems, letting the past go, and releasing the need to control the past and our feelings around it.

Saturn in Aquarius at 24° fixes itself as the apex of this T- Square squaring off to both the Sun in Taurus and the Moon in Scorpio, as well as the Nodes. Structure and discipline are the keywords here. Bring discipline and integrity home to a situation that may feel triggering. Metaphorically we are straddling the future and our pasts, we get to decide what mistakes we are willing to repeat, and which ones we will never make again.

Mercury is Retrograde in Gemini at 3° review your communications carefully. With all this Nodal action this is a wonderful time to assess if how you normally communicate is bringing you closer or further away from your truth.

Venus sits at 15° Aries, Venus is in detriment in Aries and is conjunct Chiron at 14°. Connection and love can sometimes be difficult, they can also be one of the most rewarding things in our lives. We may be having urges around doing things our way rather than choosing collaboration, and sometimes it’s ok to be a bit selfish. Sometimes we need to check in with ourselves and our desires first. The caution here is not to play the victim or salt your own wounds.

Jupiter also takes its first steps into Aries, we are ready to to expand into our own needs but our needs can also be others needs. We all have things we need. Figure out what your needs are and use this time to fill your cup. When our cup is filled we can trust deeper, love deeper, and connect more fully.

Mars sits at 23° Pisces conjunct Neptune at 24° passion is brought to our dreams and perhaps in some cases nightmares, as when we are dealing with Neptune it can very well feel like a dream that has turned into a trip down the rabbit hole. Even when the outcome is pleasant it can still feel disorienting. Both of these planets sextile Pluto and North Node, we are settling into a choice about the future, we are ready to make a decision, and if we aren’t… Well, Pluto may very well decide for us.

Mars and Neptune also trine the Moon and sextile the Sun. Passion around dreams collaborates with our emotional needs and ego goals. Neptune is giving the go-ahead to make big leaps. Take stock of what it is you want and move towards that.
