Freaks of Nature: Full Moon in Gemini

Tomorrow when the farm boys find this

freak of nature, they will wrap his body

in newspaper and carry him to the museum.

But tonight he is alive and in the north

field with his mother. It is a perfect

summer evening: the moon rising over

the orchard, the wind in the grass. And

as he stares into the sky, there are

twice as many stars as usual.

The Two-Headed Calf” by Laura Gilpin

I love this imagery for encompassing the moon in Taurus and the comfort that tends to be found there, even with it making a pass to Uranus allowing eccentricity to ignite the air. Then moving into Gemini creating strangeness, and allowing the coin to have two sides inciting new emotions.

The moon in Gemini is curious and playful and with Black Moon Lilith in the mix where we want to feel playful and free, we may feel constricted this Full Moon.

The mutable signs of Pisces, Sagittarius, and Gemini Rule this moon. Mutable signs ask us where we have the opportunity to take what we have learned or the materials we have gathered and allow those tools or knowledge to transform us or the things around us.

With Neptune in Pisces squaring the Sun in Sagittarius and the Moon in Gemini, we may not know what it is we want to create or is ready to be transformed. With Neptunian energy we may be feeling like we are in a haze, or lost under current even, not knowing where to direct our emotions or our egos. The Sun makes a Sextile to Jupiter indicating to be cautious of over inflating our egos, especially since Jupiter is also making a nice tense square to Mars indicating that passions may be running high and may also be poorly directed at this time. Focus on what’s actually important to you and place your energy there.

The Moon in Gemini trine Jupiter in Aquarius indicates there may be some big insights coming through around how we process our feelings.

Uranus in Taurus is still stirring the pot in his corner making a trine to Mercury in Capricorn and continuing to square Saturn in Aquarius. How do we communicate our originality, our strangeness, our unusual ambitions? Where does society make us feel like our unusual charm is forbidden?

Venus and Pluto in Capricorn form a conjunction, there may be forest fires of the heart in areas where relationships vs. ambitions are concerned. And with both planets sextiling Neptune we may be tempted to pick the option that makes us feel as if we are getting more recognition rather than putting in the Plutonian work of uneasy transformation. Remember that with Pluto if you don’t actively choose what is truly best for you, he may just find a way to bring your fate to you anyways, so pick wisely.
