Rise Above: A Sagittarius New Moon

When a volcano erupts ash floats into the air and comes down through the sky like a sooty rain shower. We have exited the liminal space of Scorpio and hopefully, like an erupting volcano, we have released something. The Sun and Moon meet in Sagittarius on 12/04/21 around 8:40 CET and the Archer has shot his arrow, and he pointed it high during this solar eclipse. The ashes and the arrow eventually land and we rise, not unlike a phoenix.

Opposite to our Luminaries and Mercury stands Black Moon Lilith, not a planet but a point in the moon’s elliptical path around the Earth. Black Moon Lilith symbolizes where we may feel shame in our lives. As well as things we hide or are not quite ready to release into the world for fear of ridicule.

Mercury in Sag is similar to Black Moon Lilith in Gemini in the sense that they are both gathering information, exploring and learning. Searching the world first before they are ready to share. Let this be permission that it’s ok to explore, to learn and play. That we can prioritize our journeys and take our time fiddling with our masterpiece and that we can let our tinkering phase be more important than presenting.

Mercury, Sun, and  the Moon Square off to Neptune in Pisces making us feel as if our dreams and most idealized self may not be able to come along for this journey. Take stock of your dreams. Make a list of them and stick them in your wallet so they are always with you. Remember that our dreams are always welcome on the journey no matter where we are at now.

Venus in Capricorn seeks to build something stable, something that allows her to reach her lofty goals. Conjunct to Pluto it alerts us that there may be a new way to initiate the way we go about our relationships this week. How does our desire for success or power get in the way of connection or love? Do we get to have both?

Both these planets sextile to Mars indicating that if we try something new in our relationships and pour a little passion into it we may just get to have our cake and eat it too.

Saturn in Aquarius makes a square to Uranus in Taurus. Where do we uphold tradition in our lives? Where do we break it? How does structure benefit us? In which cases do we crave to rebel against what is structuring our carefully built temples?

Mars in Scorpio wants to do things uninhibited by others’ opinions while Jupiter in Aquarius asks us to expand our minds for the sake of the collective, to think things through before we get caught in our feelings. With this square between the two we are being asked to weigh each side, are our dreams just for us? Or is it possible they could be big enough to share?
