The 12th house.. pulling up relations to death, prisons, illness and time alone. I have never been to prison. Sure I have spent a lot of time in hospitals. A lot of time in hospitals actually. But all of that never really made me feel lonely. I have Pluto in the 12th house. Mars is there too if you insist on whole signs but I don’t view my chart that way. Ask me in 4 years what housing system I still use.
12 house isolation feels like there’s a slumber party. Perhaps multiple slumber parties….and you weren’t invited to any of them But it’s ok because you didn’t really want to go, you wanted to sit alone and read, or paint a picture. Maybe bake a cake. I don’t know, the point is you weren’t invited, and while you may have been sad about it, it’s ok because you had 12th house things to do like meditating or feeling sorry for yourself.
Sometimes with 12th house things, it’s being invited to the slumber party and then being too sick to go. Occasionally it’s being invited to the slumber party and realizing your “friend” wants nothing but to put you down all night. 12 house isolation feels like standing in a circle of people making plans while not being invited because they just don’t know you well enough yet. But 12th house disappointments (opportunities really) offer a chance for us to truly get to know ourselves. To dive deep. To know that even if others don’t know us yet, or don’t see our “gold” that we can still feel golden.
Tips for combating 12 house loneliness and diving into the 12th
Prayers to the future, meditation, looking at your own darkness. Processing what you see with art and sharing with people you have never met who may one day invite you to their slumber party. Sit on a rock in the middle of the forest. Paint with dirt. Make a rattle with some beans and rice shoved into a container of your choice. You’re a STAR.
Since 6th is opposite the 12th combat the darkness with some commitment. One could say pets and devotion to service fall in this category. Maybe work the soup kitchen line or rake leaves for your elderly neighbor and don’t instagram it.
